As the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS) prepares for its next round of leadership elections, Opeyemi Michael Temitope has officially declared his intention to run for the office of Librarian, promising a renewed focus on academic excellence and intellectual growth.
In his official declaration titled "A Call for Academic Excellence,” Opeyemi lauded the efforts of past librarians for their contributions to the department and pledged to build on their legacy by fostering a culture of academic seriousness and achievement among students.
“My mission is to instill a culture of seriousness and academic rigor among our students, bridging the gap between potential and achievement,” he stated.
Opeyemi, widely known as #MAEUTIC, emphasized the need for student-led academic engagement and the creation of a resource-rich learning environment that will support students in their academic journey.
Calling on fellow NAPSSITES to join his vision for transformation, he said, “Let’s work together to make our department a hub of intellectual curiosity and achievement. If you believe in competence, dedication, and academic success, I ask for your vote.”
With the Librarian's role central to academic resource coordination and support services in the department, Opeyemi’s campaign signals a strong commitment to raising academic standards and promoting a vibrant intellectual culture in the department.
