Ondo APC House of Assembly Aspirants Kick Against Consensus Arrangement: Harp on Party Primaries

House of Assembly aspirants who have completed their screening exercise and qualified to contest the APC House of Assembly primary election in Ondo state have kicked against the idea of a consensus candidature being peddled around by some politicians in Ondo state. The aspirants reiterated that they fully aligned with the directives of the National Secretariat of the party which instructed that all APC aspirants for the House of Assembly seat must go to the field and not be disenfranchised. They noted that the idea of a consensus arrangement is tantamount to imposition, which they described as too bad for democracy. One of the aspirants who is a foremost contender for the House of Assembly seat to represent Akure North constituency, Hon. Oluwole Samuel Fanibuyan, declared that he's participating in the APC House of Assembly party primary. He assured of his winning capability, which he noted will go a long way in making the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu easy in the local government. Fanibuyan reiterated his adherence to party directives, noting that allowing all House of Assembly aspirants to go to the field to test their popularity remains sacrosanct. While appreciating the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and other party leaders in Akure North, Fanibuyan equally added that consensus candidature without considering the interests of party leaders, party people and also the aspirants is such that cannot stand whenever political storm arises. The aspirants appealed to those concerned to allow a level playing ground exercise which will produce the popular candidate that will fly the flag of the party. They equally promised their uncompromising loyalty to the party at all times, and wished the APC a resounding victory in the 2027 general polls.
