NAOSS OAU Lifts Electoral Ban, Constitutes Electoral Commission Ahead of Power Transition

The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), Obafemi Awolowo University Chapter, has officially lifted its long-standing electoral ban and constituted a new Electoral Commission to oversee the upcoming transition of leadership.
This development signals the beginning of a new political season within the association as students prepare to elect a fresh set of leaders. The newly appointed Electoral Commission will serve as the impartial body responsible for supervising the entire electoral process, from the release of nomination forms to the declaration of results. In a statement released by the association, the commission is described as “a team of competent, trusted, and principle-driven individuals committed to transparency, fairness, and integrity.” With the Latin motto “Impartialitas In Omnibus” (Impartiality in All Things), the commission is expected to maintain neutrality and professionalism throughout its mandate. Members of the 2025 NAOSS OAU Electoral Commission: * Alo Anthony Oluwapelumi (SAGE) – Chairman Renowned for his level-headedness and commitment to due process, Sage is entrusted with leading the commission in delivering a credible and peaceful election. * Adeola Gloria Titilayo (LAYOMI) – General Secretary An efficient administrator known for her meticulous documentation and firm understanding of organizational structure. * Shentimmar Olasunkanmi (PSALMSNOVELLAR) – Public Relations Officer Tasked with managing public communication, Psalmsnovellar brings clarity, responsiveness, and accountability to the Commission’s interactions with the student body. * Fasuyan Fayokemi (BABYFASH) – Financial Secretary A key figure in financial transparency, she will ensure all financial dealings related to the election process are well-managed and openly accounted for. * Ademola Olajide David (WORLD LAW) – Member Bringing legal insight and analytical precision, World Law serves as a stabilizing presence within the Commission, safeguarding adherence to electoral guidelines.

NAOSS OAU, like many student-led organizations, plays a critical role in championing the welfare, rights, and unity of indigenous students on campus. A smooth and credible transition of leadership not only strengthens internal democracy but also reinforces the association’s capacity to serve its members effectively. The Electoral Commission has called on all students, stakeholders, and aspiring leaders to embrace peace, civility, and active participation in the coming weeks.
