JUST IN: NAUS Stages Peaceful Protest Over Soaring House Rent in Ilesha

Students under the National Association of University Students (NAUS) on Monday staged a peaceful protest in Ilesha over the recent sharp increase in accommodation fees within the city. Protesters blocked major roads, insisting that the sudden hike — with some house rents now starting from ₦650,000 under the so-called “total package” arrangement, is unfair, exploitative, and threatens students’ access to education. “Enough is Enough,” the students chanted, vowing to continue advocating until a reasonable and transparent rent system is established. Details later.
