OTUNBA DOTUN OLORUNYOMI DECLARES BID FOR ONDO ASSEMBLY, PROMISES PEOPLE-CENTRED LEADERSHIP

Otunba Dotun Olorunyomi has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Odigbo Constituency 1, pledging a new era of inclusive, data-driven, and people-oriented governance.
In a statement announcing his ambition, Olorunyomi described his decision as “a sincere call to service” rather than a mere political pursuit. He emphasized his commitment to addressing the needs of constituents through practical solutions rooted in his background in Information Technology and systems thinking. According to him, his vision is to transform Odigbo Constituency 1 into a “smart and connected constituency” where development is measurable, opportunities are widely accessible, and every resident has a voice in governance. “I stand for the people — the youth striving for a better future, the elderly who deserve comfort and dignity, and widows who must never be forgotten,” he stated, stressing his connection to the everyday realities of the people. Olorunyomi also highlighted youth empowerment as a central pillar of his campaign, noting that young people are not only future leaders but also key drivers of present-day progress. He pledged to create sustainable pathways that will enable them to thrive economically and socially. Calling for purposeful leadership, he urged constituents to support his candidacy, promising honesty, courage, and accountability if elected. With campaign slogans such as “Vote Value,” “Vote Progress,” and “Vote for the Voice of the Common Man,” his declaration signals the beginning of what is expected to be an engaging political contest in Odigbo Constituency 1. The declaration, endorsed with the rallying phrase “Ajumose Gbogbo Wa Ni” (Togetherness is our strength), reinforces his message of unity and collective development. Observers note that his entry into the race adds a fresh dynamic to the political landscape of the constituency as preparations gradually build toward the next legislative elections.
